Terms of service

Last updated 19 October 2026

These terms apply when you use the Zuliya app. By creating an account or using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use Zuliya.

1. The service

Zuliya is a private family archive: a place to record people, relationships, dates, and photographs, and to share them with family members you invite. It is provided as a mobile application, and family records are held on our servers so that a tree can be shared between devices and people.

2. Accounts

You sign in with Google or Apple. You are responsible for keeping access to that account secure, and for anything done through your Zuliya account. You must be old enough to enter into a contract where you live, and at least 13.

3. Your family tree is yours

You keep ownership of everything you put into Zuliya: names, notes, dates, and photographs. You give us permission to store, copy, and display that content only as needed to run the service for you and the people you share a tree with. That permission ends when the content is deleted, apart from backup copies that are overwritten on a normal schedule.

4. Trees, roles, and invitations

A tree can have owners, editors, and viewers. Owners can invite people, change roles, and remove members. An invitation is personal and should not be forwarded. If you are removed from a tree, your access ends and the copy stored on your device is deleted.

5. Other people in your tree

Family archives necessarily contain information about people other than the account holder, including living people. You are responsible for what you add about them and for who you invite to see it. Do not add information you have no right to share, and do not use Zuliya to publish someone else's private information.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

We may remove content or suspend a tree where there is a clear breach of these rules, or where the law requires it.

7. Availability and changes

We aim to keep Zuliya available, but it is provided as it is and we cannot promise it will never be interrupted. Features may change, and we may need to take the service down for maintenance. The app keeps a local copy so that you can continue reading and editing while offline; changes sync when you are back online.

8. Ending your use

You can stop using Zuliya at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or end access if these terms are seriously or repeatedly broken. When an account is deleted, trees you solely own are deleted with it; trees with other owners remain with them.

9. Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Zuliya is not a legal records service and does not replace official documents.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data to the extent it could have been avoided by keeping your own copy. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death, personal injury, or fraud.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana, and disputes will be heard by its courts.
